GM&A has in-depth knowledge of chemistry and physics to interpret data often not recognized by others.  When analyzing cargo materials, a knowledge of the potential contaminating specie and their source is very helpful. When chemically analyzing plastics, paints, and components of coatings, a knowledge of the chemistry used at each step of the production as well as the engineering involved allows seeing details others often miss.

GM&A utilitizes state of the art analytical equipment. The above Gas Chromatograph with a Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) as a detector and the Thermex outgassing/pyrolyzing attachment allows analysis of solid samples.  A liquid nitrogen cryrogenic trap focuses all out-gassed materials from the solids in the computer-controlled attached Thermex  instrument. The GC is then allowed to operate in normal mode after collection of out gassed materials.

Infrared Red Spectroscopy is possible via a FTIR equipped with a microscope having a liquid nitrogen cooled MCT detector

The differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analyzer (TGA) are very useful in determining many chemical and physical attributes of paints, coatings, raw materials for paints, and other materials.
